O'Fallon Little Panthers Board Elections

OLP Membership,

The O’Fallon Little Panthers is a 100% volunteer organization and needs participation of its membership to continue providing youth sports to our community.  This is your opportunity to help lead the direction of OLP by providing your time and leadership.  

The O’Fallon Panthers will be having elections in December for the following positions:  Vice President Treasurer, Football Director, Membership Director, Community Relations Director, Concessions Director and Member at Large.   Each position will be elected for a 2 year term, with the exception of the Member at Large with 1 year.   All candidates must be residents within O’Fallon Township High School District 203 and hold current adult membership in OLP.

    Nominations must be submitted no later than November 15th and will be required a background check.

     

  • Elections for officers and directors will be held in December
  • Ballot information will be posted on the website no later than December 1st

The following is a descriptions of each position:

The Vice-President will, in the event of the temporary absence or inability of the President to exercise his or her office become acting president of the organization with all the rights, privileges and powers as if he or she had been the duly elected President; assist the President in overall management of OLP.  The Vice President will also lead committees and projects and accept other duties as assigned by the President.

 

The Treasurer will have the care and custody of all monies belonging to OLP; be solely responsible for such monies or securities of the organization and be one of the officers who will sign checks or drafts for the organization; render monthly to the board of directors a written account of the finances of the organization which are to be physically affixed to the minutes of the board meeting; prepare an annual audit for OLP; prepare, with the executive board, the annual budget of the OLP; and exercise all duties inherent to the Office of Treasurer.  The Treasurer will present the board with a monthly report of the financial activities of OLP at the regular monthly OLP meeting. If the Treasurer isn’t available for the monthly meeting the presiding officer or designee will deliver the report.

 

Membership Director: Create and maintain registration and membership databases; keep registration records and collect registration fees; establish and conduct registration dates for all sports, participate in all drafts, and manage OLP email registry.  

 

Football Director:  Oversee and direct football program; recruit and provide coaches with training opportunities (i.e. concussion, first aid, safety, etc.), create and maintain policies for program in compliance with National Federation of High Schools, Illinois High School Association, USA Football, and Tri-County Junior Football Conference rules; coordinate practices; ensure coaching staff and players are in compliance with OLP by-laws and standards of conduct; attend practices of each team periodically; run draft; communicate pertinent board decisions and policies to coaching staff and relate any coaching issues to the board.  May order equipment as necessary with-in compliance of annual approved budget. 

 

Flag Football Director:  Oversee and direct flag football program; recruit and provide coaches and officials with training opportunities (i.e. rules, concussion, first aid, safety, etc.), create and maintain policies for program in compliance with USA Football and other governing bodies; serve as OLP Flag Football League Commissioner; coordinate practices and game schedules; ensure coaching staff and players are in compliance with OLP by-laws and standards of conduct; attend practices of each team periodically; run draft; communicate pertinent board decisions and policies to coaching staff and relate any coaching issues to the board.  May order equipment as necessary with-in compliance of annual approved budget.   

 

Concessions Director: Coordinate all concessions activities of the organization; work with vendors; stock and maintain inventory of concessions; operate concessions; ensure volunteers are available to work all shifts; set pricing based on recommendations of the board.  

 

 

Member at Large:  The Member-at-Large (MAL) is a one year elected position as defined in Article V of the by-laws.  MAL is eligible for re-election.  The MAL will represent the interests of the general OLP membership to the board.  MAL is also the point of contact for all grievances and complaints.

 

Community Relations Director:  Community Relations Director is a voting member of the OLP Board of Directors.  Leads committee to design and distribute flyers for upcoming registration dates and events; make pertinent press releases regarding upcoming events, registrations, OLP accomplishments, fundraisers, etc.; create and post all OLP signage; seek out public events for OLP to participate in (i.e. local parades, community events, etc.)  Manages all OLP social media; coordinates community outreach events.  Consults at a minimum the OLP Executive Board before responding to media requests or inquiries.

 

By volunteering your time and leadership you will provide these sports opportunities for  the youth in our community.
