2022 Board Nominations are now open. 
Help us improve OLP! If you or someone you know would be interested in joining our organization as a board member, please take a moment to read through the descriptions of each position becoming open listed below. All Board positions are a 2-year positions, except for Member at Large which is a 1-year position, they will start January 2023 and will be held through December 2024, with January being a transition time to learn from the current member holding that position. Along with your position duties, each Board Member is required to participate in all fundraising activities of OLP and assist in the operation of OLP activities and events.

Nominations for each position must be submitted to [email protected] no later than November 30, 2022. Once the nominations are in, the Election Committee will verify information and create a ballot. This ballot will be approved by the OLP board of directors and made available in the weeks following nominee submissions.

Below is a brief description of each position:

Vice-President: assist the President in overall management of OLP and will also lead committees and projects and accept other duties as assigned by the President. Assume duties of the President in the event of the temporary absence or inability of the President.

Treasurer: Care and custody of all monies belonging to OLP; be solely responsible for such monies or securities of the organization and be one of the officers who will sign checks or drafts for the organization; render monthly to the board of directors a written account of the finances of the organization; prepare an annual audit for OLP; prepare, with the executive board, the annual budget of the OLP; and exercise all duties inherent to the Office of Treasurer. The Treasurer will present the board with a monthly report of the financial activities of OLP at the regular monthly OLP meeting.

Membership Director: Create and maintain registration and membership databases, keep registration records and collect registration fees; establish and conduct registration dates for all sports, participate in all drafts, manage OLP email registry, and answer and/or direct inquiries and correspondence from OLP members or prospective members.

Football Director: Oversee and direct football program; recruit and provide coaches with training opportunities (i.e. concussion, first aid, safety, etc.), create and maintain policies for program in compliance with National Federation of High Schools, Illinois High School Association, USA Football, and Tri-County Junior Football Conference rules; coordinate practices; ensure coaching staff and players are following OLP by-laws and standards of conduct, attend practices of each team periodically; communicate pertinent board decisions and policies to coaching staff and relate any coaching issues to the board. May order equipment as necessary with-in compliance of annual approved budget.

Concessions Director: Coordinate all concessions activities of the organization; work with vendors; stock and maintain inventory of concessions; operate concessions; coordinate with Volunteer Director to ensure volunteers are available to work all shifts; set pricing based on recommendations of the board.

Community Relations Director: Leads committee to design and distribute flyers for upcoming registration dates and events; make pertinent press releases regarding upcoming events, registrations, OLP accomplishments, fundraisers, etc.; create and post all OLP signage; seek out public events for OLP to participate in; manages all OLP social media; coordinates community outreach events. Consults at a minimum the OLP Executive Board before responding to media requests or inquiries.

Member At Large: Represent the interests of the general OLP membership to the Board and is also the point of contact for all grievances and complaints. This is a ONE YEAR position.
